VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Group Facilitator

Volunteer facilitators are the heart of Erin's House. They create a safe, nurturing space on program nights where children, teens, and adults can express themselves. Our facilitators lead and encourage participants through games, crafts, and activities to explore their own thoughts and feelings about death and loss. They are understanding of the complexity of grief and variables that affect the grieving process. Training for this position is provided.

Houseparent

Volunteer houseparents are the first to greet families on program nights. Houseparents work in teams of 3 to 5 individuals helping with the check-in table, serving pizza to families, and assisting with setting up and tidying up our facility. This position includes an easy training process.

Classroom Companion

For Erin's House to provide our Classroom Companions in-school program, we need compassionate volunteers who are looking to make a difference in the lives of grieving students. Classroom Companion volunteers are available during day-time school hours and can commit to all 6 to 8 group meetings. Training includes education on death and grief.

Looking for some extra babysitting experience? We are looking for volunteers aged 14+ to join our evening program nights Monday through Thursday. From 6:15 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., volunteer babysitters have access to toys, crafts, and books to entertain children under the age of three during their stay. No minimum requirement!
