Basics:​​
These basics apply for facilitating in-person:

Daytime and/or afternoon availability during the week
-
Commit to at least one (1) year of volunteering
-
Co-facilitate small groups of children/teens at a local school for a 1-hour program for 6-weeks
-
Lead activities from crafts and games to worksheets and conversation
-
School programs run in three (3) sessions each year: Spring I (January–March), Spring II (April–May), and Fall (September–November)
-
9-hour training provided before starting and 3 hours done independently (12 hours total)
-
Once training is complete, facilitators are able to volunteer on-site at Erin's House programs, camps, and other fun opportunities!​

Qualifications:
​These qualifications apply for facilitating in-person:

Must be at least 16 years old
-
Work as a team member and care about children
-
Be willing to travel to local schools
-
Agree to criminal background check prior to assuming duties
-
Be able to work in a confidential environment
-
Ability to represent Erin’s House positively in school settings with appropriate language, dress, and attitude
-
Confidence leading small groups and engaging with students, and once familiar, able to independently facilitate a school group without Erin's House staff present
-
Able to adapt communication and activities for different age groups

Time Commitment:​​
-
12-hours of training
-
Commit up to three (3) hours per week to facilitate designated school group, including drivetime, for an 8-week period (6 consecutive weeks and 2 backup weeks)

Example: Facilitating school group at Maplewood Elementary every Monday from 1:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. for 6 consecutive sessions, with an additional 15 minutes of drive time each way

Ready to commit to at least one (1) year of volunteering

Attend check-in meetings on a weekly or bi-weekly basis with Erin's House School Program Coordinator
