CLASSROOM COMPANION
Basics:
These basics apply for facilitating in-person and virtually:

Commit to at least one (1) school year of volunteering (August - May)

Co-facilitate small groups of children/teens in a school setting

Lead activities

4-6 hours of training
Qualifications:
These qualifications apply for facilitating in-person and virtually:

Must be at least 18 years old and care about children

Must have valid driver's license and be willing to commute to schools

Be able to work as a team member
-
Agree to criminal background check prior to assuming duties
-
Be trustworthy working in a confidential environment
Time Commitment:
In-school peer-support groups vary in scheduling. Classroom Companions must have daytime availability to facilitate during or immediately following the school day.

Ready to commit to at least one (1) school year of volunteering (May-August)

Attend 4-6 hours of training with School Liaison and Volunteer Director

Attend check-in meetings on a weekly or bi-weekly basis with the School Liaison
