These basics apply for facilitating in-person and virtually:

  • Commit to at least one (1) school year of volunteering (August - May)

  • Co-facilitate small groups of children/teens in a school setting

  • Lead activities

  • 4-6 hours of training



​These qualifications apply for facilitating in-person and virtually:

  • Must be at least 18 years old and care about children

  • Must have valid driver's license and be willing to commute to schools

  • Be able to work as a team member

  • Agree to criminal background check prior to assuming duties

  • Be trustworthy working in a confidential environment


Time Commitment:

​In-school peer-support groups vary in scheduling. Classroom Companions must have daytime availability to facilitate during or immediately following the school day.

  • Ready to commit to at least one (1) school year of volunteering (May-August)

  • Attend 4-6 hours of training with School Liaison and Volunteer Director

  • Attend check-in meetings on a weekly or bi-weekly basis with the School Liaison
